== History & local culture 

The Houlong Township was named by the Tokas called〔後攏〕(Auran) in their language.(In nowadays,the Taiwanese and hakkanese still pronounce as Auran)

One of the central transfor in Miaoli(With TRA/THSR Miaoli Station).

And Houlong Township is few of Township which Southern Fujian are more than Hakka（79：11）

== Tourist attractions 
=== Ying Thai Academy （英材書院）
The Acamady bulit refer to old academy in Qing dynasty 

A place with Chinese art exhibition like calligraphy.And also worship the Confusions inside of it.The students will pray here for the exam.

=== Hakka Round Hall
One of the famous tourist attractions in Miaoli . The building was refer to Hakka Couture.

Inside was exbition the hakka cloths,furniture, and so much more.

== Special events

=== Gong pao cheng（攻砲城）
One of the special event only held in Here.

People throwing firecrackers into a basket hanging on the wall that made by paper.

The person who throw-in the basket can get the Prize.But if don't have any person thorw in,the basket well 
Lay down.

The event use airhorn as a signal.If someone through in the basket,the staff will use the air horn to let people stop.

※The road rear the wall won't blocked before. So some people will hit by 🧨 sometimes.
Now the roads are blocked when events held.

⚠️It's very dangerous if you walked into the blocked zone. If you want join the event,Please follow the rules and stay safe:)

== Specialty
=== Peanuts Empire
Houlong Township is the one of Peanuts Origin in Taiwan.

One of the specialty is the red mud Peanuts. It's a Peanuts covered by Red dirt(Yeah just like How it got named)

=== Watermelon Empire
The sandy soil in here is the one of the factor to make Houlong become the production of the Watermelon.
