November 6

Oct 30
- Using the CMS (DokuWiki),
- Students will research heroes in their community and create a short essay describing why they are heroes, and what they have contributed to society.
- Students may also write about their own families and compare and contrast how they differ from other families.
- They may share a personal narrative written about their family or simply share a day in the life with their family.
- This will initially take the form of a short (100 to 200 word) presentation on the person, and later will be accompanied by photos. The articles must be posted to the CMS DokuWiki by each group, and will be converted into a different format live, online, by the teacher – or just shared as-is, as appropriate.
- Students will spend significant time discussing who to write about as a group and then coming up with things to say.
- Usage of colored writing:
- Each student in each group will mark their contribution to the group by writing their input in a different color.
10/22-10/28
- Using a CMS (DokuWiki)
- We will create a CMS to hold all of the student's project 1 and 2 documents today.
- Students will be responsible for adding their documents to this CMS in the future.
- We may do a third project on DokuWiki CMS if there is time.
- We could also use wordpress.

- Teams and Multimedia
- In this class we will express the wide variety of multimedia available to the students for them to use.
- We will create five teams. Each team must have a team leader. If someone needs help, they can ask their team leader, or me. The team leader is responsible for making sure everyone in the group does their work. Team leaders are marked not only on their own performance but on how well they lead the group. Team members are, in turn, marked partially by their team leader on how well they follow the instructions. (This is a suggestion of the iEarn curriculum).
Tell the students they can use these, and more!
